Non Compliance of OSHA mandates for Heat Exposure is a sure Liability issue for a company. OSHA compliance is viewed as overly strict by many people but the Liability issue remains. A worker doing light work such as typing in temperatures above 87F must have a documented work break of 15 minutes every hour. (See Table Below) This seems un-necessary but each year more people in the United States die from heat than from hurricanes, lightning, tornadoes, floods, and earthquakes combined.
